Principal Solutions Architect

OpenFn is the leading platform for public service automation and AI orchestration, helping governments and NGOs automate data exchange and digital workflows across health, humanitarian, and government programs in 40+ countries. They're hiring a Principal Solutions Architect to own solution quality and technical strategy across their implementation portfolio — from pre-sales scoping through final project handover. Think hybrid internal CTO, platform authority, and technical quality lead for the services side. You'll mentor engineers and consultants, define architecture patterns, oversee deployment strategies for government clients, and serve as the bridge between field implementations and the product team.

10–15+ years of experience in solution architecture, systems integration, or technical implementation leadership; strong JavaScript/Node.js proficiency and backend/API integration experience; demonstrated expertise with integration platforms or middleware (MuleSoft, n8n, Kafka, OpenHIM, WSO2, Boomi, or similar); experience leading technical quality across a delivery portfolio; excellent English communication including technical workshops with government and NGO counterparts; experience in consulting or professional services; familiarity with FHIR/HL7 interoperability standards is a strong advantage; DevOps experience with Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD in low-resource or sovereign-hosting contexts is a plus; French or Spanish proficiency is a bonus.
