About the role
WhatConverts is a B2B SaaS company specializing in marketing attribution and lead tracking. As their Database Administrator, you'll own the operational health and performance of their MySQL/RDS environments — covering reliability, query tuning, schema design, backups, and disaster recovery. You'll work closely with engineers on schema migrations, query reviews, and application-level performance, while also supporting reporting and analytics with clean, well-structured data models. This is a fully remote, high-ownership role at a performance-driven company.
What we're looking for
3–5+ years as a DBA with MySQL or similar relational databases in production; strong SQL skills including query optimization, indexing, and schema design; hands-on AWS RDS experience (configuration, backups, scaling, security); experience planning and executing live schema migrations; familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and runbook documentation; self-motivated with a collaborative mindset.
