About the role
Vanguard is a globally recognised investment management company on a mission to work for the long-term financial wellbeing of its clients. They're hiring a Data Engineer, Senior Specialist to design, develop, and optimise data pipelines and architectures for scalable, efficient data processing. You'll build and manage ETL workflows, integrate diverse data sources, design optimised schemas for analytical workloads, leverage orchestration tools like Airflow or Prefect, and provide technical guidance and code reviews to the broader data engineering team. This is a hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC.
What we're looking for
Minimum 8 years of experience in data analytics, programming, database administration, or data management; undergraduate degree required, graduate degree preferred; strong SQL proficiency and experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server); hands-on experience with big data frameworks (Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Databricks); strong Python, Scala, or Java programming skills; experience with cloud data services on AWS, Azure, or GCP (Glue, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake); data modeling experience required; no visa sponsorship available.
