About the role
Intelerad is hiring a Database SRE Specialist to maintain the reliability, scalability, and performance of mission-critical healthcare imaging systems. The role focuses on ensuring high availability across production environments supporting PACS, RIS, and enterprise imaging platforms used by healthcare organizations globally.
You will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing database performance, handling incident response, improving infrastructure reliability, and supporting deployment rollouts and migrations. The role also involves proactive database maintenance, root-cause analysis, automation improvements, observability enhancements, and capacity planning to ensure stable and scalable healthcare systems with high uptime requirements.
The position requires close collaboration with engineering and operations teams to improve operational efficiency, automate repetitive processes, and strengthen system resilience across cloud and on-premise environments.
What we're looking for
Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in database engineering, database reliability engineering, or similar production operations roles. Strong expertise in SQL Server and Sybase is required, including performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, backup and recovery procedures, and database maintenance in enterprise production systems.
Applicants should have experience with SQL Server high-availability technologies such as Always On, clustering, and replication. Strong administration skills across Windows or Linux servers are expected, along with scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Datadog, or PRTG is important. Candidates should also have strong troubleshooting abilities, incident management experience, and effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Experience with healthcare systems, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, infrastructure-as-code tools, containerization technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and healthcare standards like HIPAA, DICOM, or HL7 will be considered strong advantages.
