Tech Lead, LLM & Generative AI

EverAI is one of the top 15 largest and fastest-growing AI companies in the world, with 50 million users across its AI companionship platform — built in just two years. They're hiring a Tech Lead to own the architecture, training, and deployment of the LLM models powering their core product at 80M+ daily tokens. This is a player/coach role — you'll lead a team of 3 AI engineers while spending significant time hands-on in the codebase. You'll own the core chat loop, drive the model lifecycle (SFT, RLHF/DPO), manage the data engine, and architect high-precision moderation systems for a nuanced, explicit-content environment where blanket safety filters won't cut it.

8+ years of engineering experience with a significant portion shipping ML/LLM features to millions of active users; strong Python and PyTorch proficiency; hands-on experience with the modern LLM stack (vLLM, HuggingFace, fine-tuning pipelines, eval frameworks); deep understanding of alignment, prompt conditioning, sampling, and model steerability; comfort working with NSFW content and building sophisticated content moderation systems; production-first mindset with a bias toward shipping over perfection; experience with RAG pipelines, context window optimization, and inference latency at scale.
